Doh! So I remembered to bring my camera so I could take many wonderful pictures of beautiful Arizona, yet I forgot to bring the necessary memory card which turned it into a rather heavy paperweight because I’m too cheap to buy another. Which is too bad because I could have gotten some good practice at shooting in tricky lighting conditions, which, um, you can see a bit in these photos from Mark ;) Sorry Mark.

Stunts and Travels by Tyson — May 21, 2007 at 04:15 am

Oh man, forget everything I said in that last post. They worked their magic today and that stage was as dry as it was when we were first rehearsing :) Which meant we ran plan A fully through (the first time we were able to run it all). And it went off perfectly, everyone hit everything they wanted to with no mistakes.

For me that meant a big double kong, an incredibly difficult traveling underbar, some gaps in between buildings and a few flips thrown in some great spots (one great sideflip into the audience’s aisle). The entire show was amazing to watch, but the after party is where all the fun is at ;) Stunt people really know how to party…I’ll leave it at that.

The show is scheduled to air on AMC on the 25th at 10:30 PM ET/PT.

Ramblings and Stunts and Travels by Tyson — May 20, 2007 at 01:12 am

Man, we have been working our asses off preparing for this performance. We’ve been there hours ahead of call-times and even started a few days before official paid rehearsals. The show we choreographed is absolutely sick, the timing, the build-ups, it’s all perfect. Unfortunately about half of it no one may ever get to see.

Today we went to Paramount Studios and got everything choreographed and locked down. This is going to be an amazing show, and everyone will be able to see it on AMC TV because it’s for the Taurus World Stunt Awards! Somewhere in-between the explosions, pirates, car wrecks, and The Rock we are doing an 8 person 2 minute performance across roofs, an armored car, a crane, and like a jewelry store or something… Bah just look at the pictures:

Mercedes BenzGot the hotel issues sorted out and although I don’t have access to my computer with the pictures on it, I just wanted to say how amazing the performance in Macau felt. We spent one day choreographing everything, one day helping them set it all up, and one day for the rehearsals and the performance. And we nailed it! All of the boxes were close together for this one as we had a smaller room to do it in, but I think that ended up making it easier for everyone to see. We did a bit of three person choreography and a bit of two person with one resting and the combination worked amazingly.

The entrance was my favorite part, we came in from the ceiling down! You’ll have to wait and see the video for the full effect but it was quite the impressive entrance believe me. I should get going, but I’ll get the pictures up and more info in LA most likely, which means another fun 14 hour flight! ;)

Mercedes BenzSo the performance today that I haven’t been able to tell anyone about until now, was for MERCEDES BENZ! We did two performances today and what seemed like a billion run-throughs (for the light guys, sound guys, camera guys, client preview, timing, etc) for the unveiling of the C-class automobiles in Hong Kong :)
We put an incredible amount of work into this and it definitely paid off. People were blown away, there is hardly any parkour or freerunning in Hong Kong and these VIPs had never seen anything like it before! Our biggest problem was people actually trying to get too close to the performance area where we needed to land (I ended up having to throw some pretty sketchy flips in order to not land on people…) The CEO of Mercedes Benz even came out and thanked us personally afterward, he’s a really nice guy!

Stunts and Training by Tyson — Apr 28, 2007 at 02:22 pm

Is a very long time. 3 minutes straight of freerunning with the pressure of keeping to the clock and managing cues. I had no idea how difficult this performance would be, I can tell though that I can definitely do it, just have to get my mind used to it.

Good news is that I am in! They loved our three people demo footage so much that they gave the go ahead for all of us…they just will only pay for two…bullshit really. But Frosti and Levi are cool and are spreading the wealth so that we will be paid equally (it’s not much of a difference). It was really just a choice of putting on a much better performance with more room for pauses and breaks or bitching about money. The Tribe sticks together and we care about doing a good job, so we re-choreographed everything today and ran through it a ton until it was smooth. Now just need to work on endurance training.

We leave Monday, wish us luck!
