Travels by Tyson — Mar 15, 2008 at 11:14 pm

Looks like I missed a couple of updates, things have definitely been busy. The tour at the University of Southern California went quite well, my two day “vacation” in Seattle turned out to be very productive, and I’m currently in Vegas with Skipper, Demon (finally!), Mark, Tony, Brian, and Sam choreographing a rather large performance for a pharmaceutical company.

LA

Was hot! We ran about 6 or 7 performances this time, in the sun and heat, while I’m sick with some cold. But it looks like I survived, and it went pretty damn well considering. We ended up having to actually mirror and flip the set around due to some misunderstanding with the risk and liability people, but we were adding more choreography and redoing some stuff anyway so it wasn’t a problem.

Seattle

I got in late and pretty much immediately fell asleep for 12 hours or so. Then it actually took me the entire next day to catch up on emails and forums and stuff on the devil-machine, with Rafe driving down to stay the night so we could get up early to be interviewed on KOMO. The interview was pretty sweet, I managed not to say any stupid shit I think, an we even got the host to give it a try over some random tables ;)

Rafe and I then got some quick training in before I had to go do some meetings, some serendipitous stuff happened, and I ended up spending the whole day talking to a bunch of different people about parkour in Trabants. In a month or so I expect the repercussions of that day to start to be heard by the world…

Vegas

And now I’m in Vegas, trying desperately to lower the amount of mail in my inbox after an 11 hour day of hard training and choreography…the Tribe desperately needs a traveling masseuse, any takers?

Congrats to Nathan who won last week’s “Guess the Challenge” contest. The next will be have to be harder and include the completed challenge in the next post!

My Videos and Stunts by Tyson — Jun 12, 2007 at 10:29 pm

TaurusDamn, I really tried hard to get the footage from the show but it looks like it is not coming (need to start writing this stuff into the contracts). I wanted the full footage because the TV edit cut out some good stuff from the floor routine and because I could have edited together something really cool…

Oh well, there are some videos out there, click through for the youtube ones - one from the audience and one from the TV edit. I’m the one on the floor in the stupid bright green pants ;)

Stunts and Travels by Tyson — May 21, 2007 at 04:15 am

Oh man, forget everything I said in that last post. They worked their magic today and that stage was as dry as it was when we were first rehearsing :) Which meant we ran plan A fully through (the first time we were able to run it all). And it went off perfectly, everyone hit everything they wanted to with no mistakes.

For me that meant a big double kong, an incredibly difficult traveling underbar, some gaps in between buildings and a few flips thrown in some great spots (one great sideflip into the audience’s aisle). The entire show was amazing to watch, but the after party is where all the fun is at ;) Stunt people really know how to party…I’ll leave it at that.

The show is scheduled to air on AMC on the 25th at 10:30 PM ET/PT.

Ramblings and Stunts and Travels by Tyson — May 20, 2007 at 01:12 am

Man, we have been working our asses off preparing for this performance. We’ve been there hours ahead of call-times and even started a few days before official paid rehearsals. The show we choreographed is absolutely sick, the timing, the build-ups, it’s all perfect. Unfortunately about half of it no one may ever get to see.

Today we went to Paramount Studios and got everything choreographed and locked down. This is going to be an amazing show, and everyone will be able to see it on AMC TV because it’s for the Taurus World Stunt Awards! Somewhere in-between the explosions, pirates, car wrecks, and The Rock we are doing an 8 person 2 minute performance across roofs, an armored car, a crane, and like a jewelry store or something… Bah just look at the pictures:

I’ve been piggybacking off of random networks for the past few days and all of my image uploads seem to fail. I don’t want to write up about the performance without the pictures of the amazing set so you all will just have to wait.

I will say though that the show is at Paramount Studios which is a very awesome place on the inside :)

This time in Washington DC! It’s 3:15am in the morning and I’m doing something I’ve always wanted to, sleeping in a gym! Seriously, one of my fantasies is to just live in my own gymnastic gym someday, that would be so sweet :) This gym is close to my dream gym though as it is one of the only gyms dedicated to Parkour and Crossfit-style training, Primal Fitness.

I’ll head from here in a week to Hong Kong to do a performance for a product unveiling (it’s a surprise), then off to Macau for an encore, then off to LA for a sweet stunt gig separate from the performance. In total I’ll be gone for a month straight, prob the longest I’ve ever really been away from home.

But I got to get to sleep because Jesse is supposedly going to whup our asses in the morning with a special Primal Fitness workout ;) I’ll let you know how it goes.

Stunts by Tyson — Apr 12, 2007 at 08:44 pm

As it seems to happen a lot with stuntwork, I have about 3 days left in town and I still don’t even know my schedule. I do know that I have a possibility of three stunt gigs in a row and could be traveling from Seattle to Tokyo to Washington DC to Hong Kong to Macau to LA and back home again. This is going to be a crazy month of performances, training, and long flights.

I’m definitely bringing my new Canon 30D though, hopefully uploading pictures and blogging the whole time! Check back often for more updates!
