Updated with new footy!
Blog’s been quiet recently as I’ve been having a little mini-vacation with my folks in Vancouver, WA. I came down originally for a video shoot with some cool guys but I ended up staying down for Mother’s Day as well (love ya Mom!).
The shoot went really well though and I’m very excited to see the finished project. Why? We shot on the RED One digital camera system
110fps at 2K resolution, that’s about 4x slow motion in higher than full HD resolution.
Update: The song is “Death of a lonely superhero” by Clover. Here’s a link:

One day of quick location scouting led us to an awesome MAX station stop and all the fun stuff around PSU. The next day was entirely filled with jumping over stuff and hugging hot women. Check it:
Was a crazy fun day, and the footage is looking absolutely amazing. Thanks go out to the folks at Picture This! and Sean Rawls, keep checking back for when I can release what we shot!

So damn lucky…hahaha
that’s intense.
I loved the teaser, and I’m anticipating the finished project.
Hi, Tyson.
First, even if you heard it lots of times, I wanna say that you really amaze me… Your blog, style, skills. For me you are true tracer!
I watched the teaser and I loved it… Please, is the full project gonna be on inet for free? Or am I gonna need to pay for it?
Thx for answering.
Mike.
Thanks!
The finished project will be free and it will be probably be done soon
Oh man, I go to PSU, and I totally would have enjoyed running into you there. Granted I probably would have just hung back fairly far and watched, but still.
I was pretty surprised when I found the video of you on YouTube, basically flying past my school’s bookstore.
Great video, by the way. I can’t wait to see the full thing.
that was PRETTY SWEET, the only thing that bothered me was how you constantly looked like you were kissing the ground, i know its how your supposed to land and all, but in slow motion it was agonizingly long.
Hi my name is joe im a martail artist. Ive thought about going to stunt school but never intell now have i been able to talk to a stunt man. Do you think that stunt man is a reliable job?Has it been easy for you? What about money? Do you get paid well?Would you advise others to follow in this path? Just some concerns. I hope you can answer them. Well thanks, joe
Man, PK is not Stunts, traceurs are not stuntmen, they are more like ninjas… We don’t learn how to fall on soft boxes and make it look good, we learn how to move…
And Tyson is not stuntman…
Cheers, Mike.
When you’re doing a video that’s not documentary style you pretty much turn into a stunt player. There tend to be adjustments for the camera that change it from being something you would normally do while training and into parkour style stunts.
Used to want to be one.
Oh and I do have general stuntman training
Ok ok, then we just don’t know you well, Tyson :_)…
I don’t know, you actually make it look very natural, I mean the movement. Even if there were some adjustments for the camera, for making a good movie, your videos are still the most “parkourish”… and not only for me…
By the way, it’s been a long time since I asked ’bout the Red Shoot final edit. You said it would be done soon… However, no update. Not like I’m angry but I loved Red Shoot. Now the winter has come and for example I am facing certain difficulties to train and even more to record videos, so I do understand you may not be able to shoot something good these days. But when warmer time comes, will you continue with Red Shoot Project?
Thanks for answering,
Mike.
Well the edit of this footage is still being worked on. There is one release of it that’s probably coming soon though. New stuff comes randomly as they don’t own the camera and need funding to rent it.
Definitely not a reliable job, very random when stuff comes in. Pay depends entirely on the job and can be crap or very good. It’s incredibly hard to break into the stunt world without any connections starting out, I never really did it myself and am just sticking to parkour stuff. Also don’t want to move to Hollywood.
Hey, looks great. If you’re shooting more in Portland again I am a High School student interested in film and parkour, so I would love to help you guys out with anything you need for free. Just send me an email at eli.just@gmail.com
