Stunts by Tyson — Apr 12, 2007 at 08:44 pm

As it seems to happen a lot with stuntwork, I have about 3 days left in town and I still don’t even know my schedule. I do know that I have a possibility of three stunt gigs in a row and could be traveling from Seattle to Tokyo to Washington DC to Hong Kong to Macau to LA and back home again. This is going to be a crazy month of performances, training, and long flights.

I’m definitely bringing my new Canon 30D though, hopefully uploading pictures and blogging the whole time! Check back often for more updates!

Whenever anyone wants to meet with me anymore be it personal or business, I find myself just telling them to meet me in Red Square at the UW, it’s pretty funny. I’ve had two meetings there in the past two days… It’s close to food, parkour training, and it’s easy to find :)

Comes in handy too when they are late or you are early, got some great training there today for about an hour. I did about 50 precision jumps, a bunch of vault training, and some great QM training. I found that doing the push up variation walk on a one foot wide wall is really great since you can lower your head below the wall on alternating sides and get really low :)

*Warning: No parkour content! No vaults, no flips, no anything. Just that acting crap.*

So this is one not many people know about, it showed up on the G4 channel for awhile and supposedly it’s embedded in some flash ads somewhere but I’ve never seen them… I’ve actually done some model work with them as well which will show up in the next few months. How are my acting skills? ;)

Had a nice little run with Janine tonight, she showed me a route she takes that goes all the way to UW and back. I’m surprised by how much easier parkour runs are for me now than they were around a year ago when I did similar night workouts. The only thing nowadays that gets me really sore and tired is heavy repetition and conditioning exercises such as long distance QM or lots of saut de chat strength drills. I did get some really nice work on jump precisions though, they are more difficult to train at night because of the amount of light available but I like that - it’s more challenging and better preparation.

Advice by Tyson — Apr 10, 2007 at 09:36 pm

Whenever I’m heading somewhere without a backpack I try to always get a bit of running and jogging in. It’s nice to warm up when it is raining and it’s always good exercise. But for some reason up till now I’ve never really considered running on the grass next to the sidewalk. I mean occasionally I’ll run and balance on the curb or on top of some wall next to the sidewalk, but I still spend a lot of time smacking my feet into concrete. I ran to UW today and had a great time running on the grass, dodging trees, jumping over the sidewalk, and avoiding puddles. Why run on the grass rather than the sidewalk you ask? Continue Reading »

In this week’s issue of TIME magazine I’m featured along with some other great traceurs for my work with the nonprofit and the University of Washington scholarship and club. Surprisingly the article is not that well researched though, and spends the majority of its time talking about parkour’s dangers and injuries.

Seriously now, take a look at how dangerous football, polevaulting, wrestling, and gymnastics are to name a few Continue Reading »

“…it’s like being inside of a pinball machine, if pinball machines could be filled with ninjas…”

Check out this awesome new article the Seattle Metropolitan did on parkour and yours truly! You can find a PDF download and comments on the WAPK forums. I really enjoyed working with the writer and photographer for this article, they are really cool people and hopefully I’ll run into them again :)
